On the western edge of Guatemala, shouldering the Mexican border is the Highland or HueHue region. This region is extremely popular for the fruity coffee it delivers, quite different from many other regions in Guatemala. The dry, hot winds that blow from Mexico’s Tehuantepec plain protects the region from frost. Micro-climate, soil conditions and cultivars all play the important role in this coffee.
With layers of complex acidity and fruits, the flavour profile is an homage to the HueHuetenango region. Our offering of for this Guatemalan from Los Laureles makes for a perfect espresso and even more delightful as a cortado or flat white.
